We are offering for sale a rare and very beautiful, 1850’s \"Gutta Percha” / DUAL Ninth Plate / Thermoplastic Tintype / Photograph Hard Case titled \"GEOMETRIC\". This beautiful LITTLEFIELD Case measures approx. 2 5/8\" x 3\" (outer measurements) and the interior opening accommodates two 1/9 Plate size Images.

The molded design on the front and rear of the Case are identical and features an WONDERFUL GEOMETRIC DESIGN. This central image is surrounded by a nice classic border. The Case is jet black in color and exceptionally attractive. The design is designated as Berg 3-245 and titled \"GEOMETRIC\".
The Case contains a (2) Tintypse featuring a CIVIL WAR SOLDIER and presumably his wife.
This rare and original, 1850\'s Littlefield Case is in very good condition. The molded images on both sides are crisp and sharp with light wear. The surfaces retain their original surface shine with some dust present; Case could use a detailed cleaning. No damage noted. The female photograph does not have a piece of glass covering the picture.
