This is an 1849 dated original Bennington Coachman figural liquor bottle signed on bottom from Lyman Fenton & Co Pottery of Bennington,Vermont (however, the lettering is glazed over and only a few letters are visible)......I can plainly make out a large 1849 and part of LYMAN FENTON ....From other examples I've had I know that it would be embossed "Lyman Fenton & Co. / Fenton's / ENAMEL. / PATENTED / 1849. / BENNINGTON, Vt."....Yellowware pottery with brown Rockingham or Bennington slip with clear lead glaze....10 1/4"tall...Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean bottle. One of the nicest examples of this bottle I've had....
