This helpful guide/puzzle game of the early kings and queens of England was first published by John Wallis in London in 1788. This is a reproduction created appx 200 years later using originals in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia and Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Wallis\'s was considered a useful teaching tool for England’s youth at the end of the 18th century, an early version of learning through fun!

Thirty-two separate cards (4 rows of 8) provide biographical information about the monarchs from William the Conqueror to King George II. A portrait is shown of each, in addition to a list of remarkable events of their reign and names of eminent persons. A letter below each image identifies the royal house – N = Norman, Y = York, T = Tudor, S = Stuart, etc. A handy reference for England’s youth at the end of the 18th century.
