- Remarkably rare, this textile is an antique French valance dating from the early to mid 1800\'s ~ this pattern, I\'ve never seen another like it! ~Geometric / kilim inspired! this textile would have once hung from a ciel de lit from a bed. There is a jute lining for added body in between the front and back fabric. The original trim is still around the edge. The front fabric is a remarkablyrare pattern. Wonderful autumnal tones!!! ( please see my other textiles for a matching valance) ( PR 58)
Measurements: This lovely textile measures 38 inches ( on the side edge) by 71 inches wide~
CONDITION : This textile is in as found, unwashed condition with light storage dust. There are some small and tiny holes dotted around. There are many splits in the backing fabric ~ There are some stains on this textile. It\'s important to use the zoom feature to view the condition closely ~
