The piece has a central medallion, which is an original work by Emile Louis Picault (1833 - 1915). The medallion is a fine work of sculptural quality, with detailed hand-chased decoration of the finest quality and detail. The piece measures about 14.5\" from handle to handle, and stands about 3\" high. The handles feature a pierced acanthus and pine-cone handles, and the medallionhas a neo-classical design featuring a pair of men. The tazza is in excellent condition, free of dents, dings, or restorations. It is very heavy and solid, weighing about 6 lbs. There is a modestamount of scratching to the surface, along with some scattered spotting to the finish. This wear is age-appropriate and typical for a piece of this vintage.
