From the estate of French actress Lilo de la Passardiere: A signed greeting card from Maurice Chevalier (French actor, singer, entertainer) to Lilo de la Passardiere (French actress, singer). The card displays Chevalier's sense of humor and frugality, as the card is meant for a birthday greeting, he has repurposed it as a New Year's greeting. The front of the card shows a four breasted woman with the caption, "One can't have too many!. Inside the card reads, "Birthdays that is... Hope you have a happy one! Chevalier adds "New Year's that is..." It is signed in blue ink, "Maurice" with his handwritten comments to bottom. The card measures approx: 4.5" x 5.5" when closed. This greeting card was designed by Napoleon, a popular illustrator during the 50's-70's. Good vintage condition, some scuffing to front, light discoloration/foxing to edges - see photos. Maurice Auguste 12 September 1888 – 1 January 1972) was a French singer, actor and entertainer.[3] He is perhaps best known for his signature songs, including "Livin' In The Sunlight", "Valentine", "Louise", "Mimi", and "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" and for his films, including The Love Parade, The Big Pond, The Smiling Lieutenant, One Hour with You and Love Me Tonight. His trademark attire was a boater hat and tuxedo.
