An early image from the set \" China and the Chinese\" produced by York & son. Dated by myself to around 1875 based on dating other sets this slide came with and the fact the glass is thick which is an indication of age as this became thinner as technology improved.
The slide will not be watermarked when received - see photo 2 L615 CAB111 S4

The slide consists of two glass plates, on that the image is applied to and a second to protect the image. The slide normally has a inner paper border and then the slide is then held together with edging paper.Please be aware that as the slide can be photographed both sides so the image in photo 1 may be reversed in error
