This is an excellent Stereo card of a woman weighing and sorting raw silk skeins at a silk factory in South Manchester, Connecticut. It is from a Rare Keystone “Silk” 25 card set (the cards are numbered 1 to 25) with a copyright date of 1914. This set features various steps and the machines used in the processing of silk at the Cheney Brothers silk factory in South Manchester, Connecticut. This card is titled \"Weighing and Sorting Raw Silk Skeins - Silk Industry (Reeled Silk), So. Manchester, Conn., U. S. A.\" with a Keystone negative number of 20301 and a position number of 2. This card is in near mint condition and measures 3 1/2\" by 7”. The back of the card is printed with information about the subject. Stereoviews or stereo cards have two nearly identical images mounted side by side. When looked at through a stereo viewer they give a three-dimensional image. Most popular from 1854 to 1938, they were produced in vast quantities, and many are of historical interest. They usually measure about 3 ½” by 7”.
