This Rare Aqua CD 185 Hemingray No. 95 Glass Insulator was made by Hemingray Patent 1893-1920 for Jeffery Manufacturing Company for their use in mining power lines. This piece is not in mint condition but is in great to near mint condition, which is rare. This piece is as is condition in the pictures with some chips and flea bites missing. This insulator still has all its “fangs” or drip points. This is a fairly desirable and uncommon style because they were used in the mining industry, which is very hard working conditions, and are most often very badly damaged or destroyed. They were designed with a hole to allow water to drain through, since they were used in conjunction with hollow pins. These insulators were cast in a “floating mold” and can vary in size and color. This piece is a vibrant aqua and the insulator is a full pour of glass in the mold so all the letters are visible and measures 3” in diameter, 3.75” tall and weighs 1 lb 7 ozs. There are also some beautiful air bubbles in the glass. This is a once in a lifetime find for any collector based on its rarity and condition.
