Huntington, Hezekiah , 1696 - 1773

Hezekiah Huntington (December 16, 1696-February 10, 1773) was the son of Christopher Huntington of Norwich, Connecticut. He held a number of civil and military posts: a deputy to the Connecticut General Assembly, Lieutenant General of the 3rd Regiment, judge of probate and of the New London County Court, and, during the Revolution, was a contractor for supplies for the army. The Assembly appointed him overseer to the Mohegan Indians in 1754, a position he held until 1769. In 1766, Huntington was also a member on a committee on Western Pequot Indian affairs in 1766.
