Rarity The plot of the box "Count Nulin" is a short humorous poem by the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, written in just two mornings on December 13 and 14, 1825, during his exile in Mykhailo. Box of the 1941 with the artist's signature. By Zhegalov... ~Zhegalov Viktor Vasilievich~ Born March 12 (24), 1898 in Palekh. In 1913-1917 he studied at the educational workshops of the Committee of Trusteeship of Russian Icon Painting. Member of the Artel of Ancient Painting since 1928. Teachers - I.M.Bakanov and A.V.Kotukhin. In 1937-1938 he worked at the Dulevo porcelain factory. He died in 1941 in the village of Lomy, Palekh district, Ivanovo region. Themes of the works: folklore, history, genre scenes. Participated in exhibitions since 1933. 📐Size: 5.5 × 3.5 inches (14 × 9 cm). Handmade, papier mache. Wonderful antique present! Good condition. See photo... Palekh has been famous for its icon painters since pre-Petrine times (along with Mstera and Kholui). Palekh icon painting reached its peak in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The local style was formed under the influence of the Moscow, Novgorod, Stroganov and Yaroslavl schools. In addition to icon painting, the Paleshians were engaged in monumental painting, participating in the painting and restoration of churches and cathedrals. After the revolution of 1917, Palekh artists were forced to look for new forms of realizing their creative potential. In 1918, the artists created the Palekh Art Decorative Artel, which was engaged in painting on wood. The founders of the Palekh style are Ivan Golikov and Alexander Glazunov. Ivan Golikov wrote the first work in the so-called Palekh style. In 1925, Palekh miniatures were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Paris. The Union of Palekh Artists arose in 1932.
