Russian Lacquer Box. Rarity \"Stepan Razin\" The plot of the box and the main hero - Stepan Tymofiyovych Razin was the leader of the uprising of 1667-1671 in the Moscow kingdom. Stepan\'s father belonged to the Cossack foreman of the Don Army; the mother was most likely a Crimean Tatar. The godfather was military chieftain Kornylo Yakovlev... Box of the 1949 with the artist\'s signature. By Parilov... ~Parilov Mikhail Ivanovich~ Born in 1889 in Palekh. Hereditary icon painter. Cousin of P.L. Parilov. He studied at the educational workshops of the Committee of Trusteeship of Russian Icon Painting. Since 1930 he worked in the Artel of Ancient Painting. He died in 1968 and was buried in Palekh. Subjects of works: folklore, history, literature. The works of M.I. Good condition. See photo... ~Palekh~ Palekh has been famous for its icon painters since pre-Petrine times (along with Mstera and Kholui). Palekh icon painting reached its peak in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The local style was formed under the influence of the Moscow, Novgorod, Stroganov and Yaroslavl schools. In addition to icon painting, the Paleshians were engaged in monumental painting, participating in the painting and restoration of churches and cathedrals. After the revolution of 1917, Palekh artists were forced to look for new forms of realizing their creative potential. In 1918, the artists created the Palekh Art Decorative Artel, which was engaged in painting on wood. The founders of the Palekh style are Ivan Golikov and Alexander Glazunov. Ivan Golikov wrote the first work in the so-called Palekh style. In 1925, Palekh miniatures were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Paris. The Union of Palekh Artists arose in 1932.
