Pandanus Petrified Wood 4.6 Pounds 7 3/4\"x 4\"x 3 1/2\" Ground Root Specimen-Not Polished
This is a nice piece of Petrified Ground Root from Wyoming Petrified Pandanus Wood. This wonderful piece has been cut on one face. Some of this specimen has the host rock of Wagonbed Formation still attached to it.
Wyoming is the only known place on Earth where you can find Petrified Pandanus Wood. Quality pieces like this were probably picked up around 80 years ago when the old Yellowstone Highway cut through this remote place on Government Slide near Beaver Rim in Fremont County Wyoming. Like Wyoming Jade, Prospectors hunted it long before most of us were born and the greatest pieces went into somebody\'s garden someplace in time.
There are many parts to the Petrified Pandanus Tree. These include the Top, Main Trunk, Air Roots, Ground Roots, Fruit Pods and Trunk Base.These are very limited and hard to find specimens from old collections that don\'t come around very often here in Wyoming.
