This pair of commemorative bookends features 2 silver tone metal coin style medals (possibly pewter) mounted to sleek wooden bookend forms. As far as I can tell they are unmarked on the metal or wood. The medals feature a relief style casting commemorating the life and works of James Whitcomb Riley, Indiana author and namesake of The Riley Hospital For Children in Indianapolis. Each measures approximately 4.25" x 4.75" x 6.5" overall. The medals measure approximately .25" x 3.125" x 3.125" each.

Condition: In pre-owned and what appears to be handmade condition with wear including dirt, dust, grime, fading, dents, dings, stains, scratches on the wood surface, scuffing/scuff marks, abrasions, worn corners/edges on the wood, dulling, patina, tarnish, surface finish loss, uneven edges/forms/finish/textures due to being handmade and overall wear do to use and handling. PLEASE see photos for details.
Origin/age: They were purchased in Indiana but I haven't been able to find any comparable bookends or medals that match this pair so I am not quite sure of the origin or age.
