I have included his hand-written letter attesting to its authenticity - because he was there!
JOHN YOUNG is a distinguished NASA astronaut. He was part of the second group of people chosen to train to be U.S. Astronauts. He flew with Astronaut Michael Collins on NASA\'s Gemini 10 flight. He walked on the moon as part of the Apollo 16 Mission. and He and Bob Crippen were the co-pilots on the first flight of the Space Shuttle! A remarkable NASA career! He grew up in Florida and attended grade school there.
The man I bought this autograph from grew up in the same town as Crippen and attended the same grade school Crippen had attended. As luck would have it, one day in 1967 or 68, as the boy and his Mom were leaving a local store, his Mon spotted Mr. Young in the parking lot! She told \"Rusty\" to go get his autograph. The only thing he had to write on was a toy astronaut \"Johnny Apollo\" that was still in the box. Mr. Young apparently got a chuckle out of the situation and signed the box top!! Please take time to read his account in one of my photos. I didn\'t include the entire story out of respect for the man\'s privacy. If you win the sale, you will receive the entire signed letter and my correspondence with him at the time I bought it (Jan 2018).
