The Golgotha stones used within this glass Reliquary have been gathered from the site of Golgotha in Jerusalem and certified and placed at the Anointing Stone and Blessed in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre before it was sent to me by my friend Evie who lives in Jerusalem. The stones have been set into the cross on the back. The stones used has been secured sealed into the center of the cross using a clear resin. The info cards posted will be emailed. This measures a little over 2\".
I have a large stone which I have broken it into smaller fragments that I use in my various prayer stones, pendants, relic cards and keepsake sculptures. This stone was gathered from the the site of Golgotha. Photos posted show it being gathered.
The Anointing Stone also known as the Stone of Unction (that the Golgotha stone was placed on) isa large slab of stone placed inside the church of the Holy Sepulchre, between the Golgotha (the hill of the crucifixion of Jesus), and the Tomb of Jesus. By local tradition, on this rock Jesus\' body was laid and prepared for burial.
