GOLD QUARTZ
from the
GYMPIE ELDORADO MINE,Queensland, AUSTRALIARuler is 1/4" wide (6 mm). U.S. 10 cent coin is 17 mm in diameter.Specimen weight: .49 Gram - 7.6 Grains (Troy)Size: 10.2X6.2X4.8 mmMost gold bugs hit the brakes for out-of-the-ordinary rocks. Here's a striking specimen from the Gympie Eldorado Mine. It's small, but very rich. What looks like gold is just that growing alongside greenstone wall rock and quartz. The precious metal's composition, lustrous and high-in-purity, is unquestionable. I waited many years for some of this ore to surface. Finally, from out of nowhere, it did. If I were a collector, not a dealer, this one wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. The thing is, I enjoy passing nice specimens on to fellow aficionados. If you get jazzed seeing oro in it's most natural, organic state, break out your sax, I'll grab an axe. There's the possibility this historic mine could open again, but in the meantime, I'm glad to have some old stock mine run to offer collectors. Those who've kept track of my store these past twenty years know I don't sell low-grade or faux specimen. If it shows naturally-occurring gold, it can't be low grade. It's regrettable that so much phony baloney/fool's gold is being passed off to novice collectors looking for the Real Mccoy. Having mined gold for several years, I've no wish to peddle anyone a faked specimen. That's not my MO! These beautiful high-grade auriferous rocks arehard-to-find andexpensive to boot. My prices aren't based on the amount of gold contained, but upon their authenticity, rarity, and collectability. I dig these all-white rocks. The Aussie gold found inside it is known to be some of the finest gold found anywhere in the world.U.S. SHIPPING - $4.00(includes USPStracking and to all U.S. destinations)

  • NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
If you're the kind of person who enjoys playing in the dirt,
gold mining might be right up your alley. Of course, finding gold is rarely a given; not unless the ground you're working is a proven producer or you've learned, through reliable sources, a claim is rich. Forced into doing manual work, whether moving big rocks, breaking apart hard-packed clays, pummelling caliche with apickaxe, digging six foot deep pits, splitting bedrock cracks, hauling buckets of gravel, every phase in mining by hand is a workout. Mining isn't for the frail; but don't let that stop you. Anyone can find 'yeller'. It just takes determination and a good place to mine. Then, just work at your own pace and be smart about it. There remain abundant recreational mining opportunities in the western mining states. One good way of learning the ropes is to join a mining club. As a member, you'll gain access to club claims where a person can dig (within reason) to their heart's content. I tip my hat to heavy-equipment operators working in the big mines. These guys and gals literally move mountains if permitted to do so.That’s tiring, monotonous work. Even so, it's rare to see them performing the same ‘grunt-work’ small-scale minersareaccustomed to. They're probably thinking, "boy, that's stupid!" Perspective's everything. Not everyone takes to bludgeoning the ground with pickaxes or shoveling gravel for hour after endless hour. Whatever your preference, when it comes to gold, some of us take perverse pleasure playing in the dirt. It’s almost like we get to be kids again. The bigdifference is, as grownups, we’re actually digging for real buried treasure. It's no longer a mere childhood fantasy. Sure, in my antiquated state, these daysI’ve become more of a ‘mouth miner’. My pick is made ofsilver, notsteel and certainly not aluminum. Thatwasn’t always the case, mates. Prospecting - finding gold I couldcall my own evolved into one remarkable adventure after another.Pursuing my own Rivers of Gold proved the fulfillment ofa lifelong dream.During the average workday, an argonaut expends every last
ounceof energy. Figuratively-speaking, I’ve been snake-bit too many times to count; felt the bitter sting of disappointment whengold wasn't where I hoped it would be. After finds had been weighed in the mind, my powder scales wouldn't back up the expectations. That agony-of-defeat aspect remains very real and constant inside the world of the gold miner. Still, with access tothe right claim, determination, and a willingness to work hard, most aspiring argonautswho try their handemerge at season's end with a bit of heavy metal to rattle around in their poke. It's imperative you gowhere the gold is. Once you've arrived on the scene, you must be allowed to dig.During my 20 year stin, the mining lifestyle suited me immensely. It was the simple, solitary life of the American prospector that called me to hunt for wild gold in places where no one else thought to look. Gene Ralph, aka Eldorado Gene
