SAPPHIRE (Corundum):Yebu-kalar-gon, Mogok Valley Zone, Mandalay Division, Myanmar (Burma). Dimensions: 1.85 x 1.4 x 1.4cm, thumbnail, 5.19 grams. This is a very nice Sapphire crystal from Burma featuring two, intergrown, perfectly terminated crystals growing at right angles to one another.This is an incredibly cute and remarkable pair of gem Burmese Sapphires, making for an unusually aesthetic thumbnail specimen from Bill Larson\'s Burma collection. This is not theusual single crystal, which is rare enough, but is composed of one tabular, elongate hexagonal crystal at the \"bottom\" that measures 1.85 x 1.4 x 0.6cm and a second slightly elongate, tapering pyramid growing out from it that measures 1.4 x 1.0 x 0.8cm. Each of these crystals has a lovely light blue color, sharp, textbook form with tapering pyramidal faces that are horizontally striated and display a satin luster, except for the bottom face of the larger crystal that has a brighter adamantine luster! Both Sapphire crystals have sharp faces and edges with only two tiny, trivial nicks on the \"bottom\" crystal. Please note that the larger, brighter face is not a cleavage as Corundum/Sapphire has no cleavage, it is a bright, near perfect crystal face! So these are essentially perfect Sapphire crystals!
