Thisis a D.R.L. Sports Badges pre-1937, Second Class Badge in Silver(Reichssportabzeichen DRL vor 1937 ohne Hakenkreuz in Silber). ThisD.R.L. badge is a silver grade, pre-1937 version, constructed of asilver plated bronze. The obverse consisting of an oval oak leafwreathed, tied together at the bottom by a bow-tie ribbon, withcentral initials \"DRL.\" The reverse with a barrel hinge andbanjo-style pin-back meeting a flat wire catch and the reverse isalso unmarked. The badge measures 39.47 mm (w) x 48.23 mm (h). Thesepre-1937 badges are difficult to find and much rarer than thepost-1937 with the swastika. It took me several years to collect all three grades. This one is innear mint condition. I purchased it in 2006 from a privatecollector. \"Forman\'s Guide to TR German Awards & Documents,Volume 2\" currently values this D.R.L. Sports Badge at $125.00(page 445).
