This is an authentic copy of Fox’s Crimes By Women #2, from August 1948.

Don’t confuse this with the poorly-printed photocopies of this series that have infested . This is a poorly-printed original, with all the sleazy \"quality\" that Fox was known for.

CONDITION

A well worn copy that still presents well. Supple, off-white pages. Long crease back cover. Back cover tear sealed by a prior owner with tape. Cover detached at top staple and attached by so little at the bottom staple that it is best to consider it fully detached. No trimming or color touch WWII, the popularity of Superheroes was waning, given that they could no longer punch Nazis in the jaw. In 1948 as publishers were looking for the next big thing, the Supreme Court gifted them the Winters decision. This struck down a New York ban on publications involving \"pictures or stories of deeds of bloodshed, lust or crime.\" Suddenly comic book publishers were rushing to put out crime comic book by the dozens. Crime comics pushed the boundaries of sleaze, and this book is a prime example. Here you\'ll find case with graphic depictions of bloody murders by axe and by butcher knife, along with buried-in-the-basement corpse disposal. A guy is run over by a car and left in a pool of blood, and of course there is the obligatory lingerie scene.
