This phenomenal Mask Maker’s Workshop Retablo is by Eleudora and Mabilón Jimenez—children of the famous retablisto artist Claudio Jimenez of Peru.

These kids are every bit as good as their father!!!

It is signed on the back.

This was imported directly from the artists.

It is completely hand-made and hand-painted.

The box is made of old reclaimed wood that has a layer of gesso and then is hand-painted in floral motifs.

There are 6 people making or wearing colorful and startling masks in this retablo.

The walls are decorated with 32 multicolored masks with another 12 masks being held or just on or under the table and one being worn.

The figures are ceramic over a wire armature.

The detail is incredible. You can look at it for hours and still see something new.

The Retablo measures 13 1/2”

tall by 7 3/4” long (with the doors closed) by 3” deep.

It is 15 1/2” long with the doors fully open.

The scene area measures 11” tall by 7” long by 2 1/4” deep.
