Levi Woodbury [1789 1851]was aUnited States statesman whowas appointed as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court by President James Polkand served from1845 until his death in 1851.Woodbury previously served as the 13th United States Secretary of the Treasury [1834 1841], the 9th United States Secretary of the Navy [1831 1834], and as the 9th Governor of New Hampshire [1823 1824].Listed for sale is the autograph ofAssociateJustice Levi Woodbury signed onpage. The page was most likely removed from a letter or documentand the autograph is signed \'\'Levi Woodbury\'\' in black ink above his title as Secretary of the Treasury. The pagemeasures4.25 x2.25 inches, it has trivialglue remnants on the verso whichare visible at the top of the page otherwise itis in fine condition. The autograph is affixed to a presentation album page which measures 6.00 x 9.50 inches. The autographis authentic, uncommonandis adesirableexample of this notedstatesman and isideal for display.
