JorFra was founded by Mr. Jorge Francisco Tunno in 1981. In 1989 he acquired the building it currently occupies at 2442/44 Las Palmas Street, in the neighborhood of Pompeya, in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Today it has 41 years dedicated to the manufacture and commercialization of bladed weapons for the Argentine military and security forces, as well as for other forces of foreign countries: sabers, swords, couteaux, short swords, commando and survival knives, daggers, military and security equipment.The COMANDO and COMANDO ELITE (engraved blade) knives were manufactured by JORFRA of Buenos Aires, Argentina. All of these knives have an Army Couteaux or M1910 Army Sword type hilt, but there are several variations of blades and sheaths on this model.Despite having the name \"Commando\", this model does not have a strong enough construction to allow an intense use as expected during an Army Commando mission, also due to its type of trimmings, all this led us to believe that it was not designed for an abusive use in the field, but as Argentine Army officers\' short edged sidearms at the garrison or for normal daily use, or given as souvenirs to retirement of some Army officers and NCOs.Highly polished carbon steel bowie blade, with plain main edge and a sharp barracuda type 11-tooth sawback, rat-tail tang. The manufacturer\'s logo is stamped on left ricazzo. It has a weird detail, logo was stamped twice, the first one later erased, but a light stamp still remains, giving a \"ghost\" effect. The blade is not engraved.Both the guard and hilt trim are bronze, the hilt is a piece of black plastic with 10 grooves.The guard ends in a pair of oppositely oriented circles, the pommel is a lion\'s head with open mouth, and a ring for the sword lanyard. This seems to be a late run, the lion\'s head has not so much details as older runs, and there are no teeth on lion\'s mouth.A bronze screw with female internal thread in the pommel secures the whole assembly.The scabbard is made of brown cowhide leather, stitched, with a riveted strap as belt loop and hilt strap with snap button.
