This antique WMF Claret Jug Decanter is a stunning piece of Art Nouveau design. Made in Germany between 1900-1940, it features a beautiful Maiden and Floral pattern and is composed of the silverplated metal design over purple glass. The jug is perfect for collectors of antique glass and those who appreciate the unique beauty of the Art Nouveau style designed by Albert Mayer for WMF.
The decanter is in good shape and has a lovely purple glass liner bottle. There may be some wear and tarnish and scratches on the metal body and glass consistent with age and use. It has the impressed initials WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in the bracket on the bottom as shown. There is also and acid etched mark on the bottom of the glass bottle that is not legible (looks like a crown shape). It is 14 1/2\" tall with a base diameter of 6 1/2\". The stopper is attached.
