Circa 1820’s, the finest gosamer lawn border has beautiful whitework embroidery and a Binche lace edging.The early whitework embroidery is quite wonderful and has meandering vines,florals and elongated leaves in the design.Measuring approx.34” by 12” wide..In very good strong condition, there is one 1” opening near seam and a few tiny minoropenings.This early fine lawn is so light in the hand that it is quite a wonder that embroidery was evenattempted and done in such a excellent way. This item waslaundered. This probably came form a early ladies gown or christening gown.
