This is very pretty collection of antique and vintage French fabric scraps in muted blues, aqua and neutrals. All are wonderfully worn and "perfectly imperfect" for slow stitching, junk journals, sewing projects or any other dreamy creation that requires a touch of authentic, worn French charm. Tattered for sure. Also included are two reproduction lace cards, one wound with 1 yard of vintage silk fabric, and one has 1 yard of vintage fancy loop trim (these are not from France), a sweet little French reproduction envelope holds 3 ivory vintage buttons (country of origin is unknown), as well as a reproduction image "L'Heure du The" which is not old, but certainly charming (translated "Tea Time").
In this bundle you'll find a lovely antique French home spun linen fabric rescued from a vintage bed sheet, in pale oatmeal color. This has a charming rustic appearance and the fabric looks a little like hemp fibre and yet behaves like flax linen (fluid movement, hangs beautifully, creases sharply). This piece measures approximately 13x12.5" - I love using this fabric as a grounding cloth for slow stitching; edges are torn. The other primary piece is a very delicate cotton fabric in muted aqua, gray and neutrals - oak leaves - and it's spectacular. In as-found condition with some spots. That piece measures 10.5x9.5". All other fabrics and the lace piece are from France and are smaller in size.
This fabric grouping is for dreamers like me who LOVE to work with items that are hard to come by and have a history. If you appreciate the look of worn, tattered and primitive French, you will enjoy this. Fun prints to work with and the fabrics are quite old and some very delicate. About Wildflower Studio: Welcome to Wildflower Studio, where you'll find vintage and collectible treasures, beautiful fabrics and embellishments, charming home decor pieces and a menagerie of other items I have collected during my treasure hunting trips. Having grown up on a farm in the Midwest, I'm drawn to simple and natural items - I do love the worn and tattered look of old linens. I wonder what their story is and how I would use it - probably in some sort of sewing project.
