This is a antique brass “Eclipse” Fire Department lantern made by the Fire Extinguisher Manufacturing Co. of Chicago under U.S. Patent #349,618, dated September 21, 1886. This stands about 15\" tall not counting the bail. It is 6\" in diameter at the bottom of the tank. This has s few small dings on the tank but no stress cracks in the brass. It has no wick. This has been polished and lacquered for years of care free enjoyment. This displays very well and would look great on a restored antique fire apparatus.
