For your consideration, we are offering for sale this exclusive Never Inked, Mint in the Box, 2000 Montblanc 888 Year of the Golden Dragon Fountain Pen Limited Edition 595 of 888. This pen comes with the original inner and outer boxes along with the Montblanc Service Certificate/Documentation. This Montblanc is gold plated with hand hand-painted Missen Porcelain cap and barrel. This fountain pen has never been inked.
NOTE: In Chinese culture, the dragon is a symbol of the imperial family. The year 2000 was the "Year of the Golden Dragon", as it was ruled by the element "Metal", which is also associated with gold. This combination only occurs once every 60 years, making it a powerful and significant event.
To pay tribute to Chinese culture, Montblanc and the German Porcelain maker, Meissen, collaborated to create the "Year of the Golden Dragon - Limited Edition 888" fountain pen. This exquisite pen is made of hand-painted Meissen porcelain with only 888 fountain pens available worldwide.
The fountain pen features a hand-painted dragon on the cap and is made of the finest Meissen porcelain in traditional Chinese colors. The 18K gold nib is engraved with Chinese characters for the Year of the Dragon, which is a symbol of happiness and success. This fountain pen celebrates Chinese culture and tradition.
This exquisite fountain pen features a renowned white Meissen porcelain cap and barrel, embellished with the hand-painted Golden Dragon, and the iconic Meissen porcelain blue swords hallmark. The pen is elegantly plated with gold plated trim, complemented by an 18K gold nib. Both the cap and barrel are flawlessly preserved, free from any cracks, chips, or porcelain damage. The cap securely fastens onto the barrel, ensuring optimal functionality. When capped, the fountain pen measures 5 3/8" in length, and when posted, it extends to 6 3/8". The weight of the pen is a "hefty" 2.34 ounces - great weight in the hand.
This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water, and works as it was designed to. It is in perfect working order and does so very smoothly. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.
This fountain pen comes with a Medium nib in 18K gold, engraved with Chinese symbols. The nib is stamped with, "2000, 4810, 18K MONTBLANC". The nib point (iridium) measures .92mm when measured with digital calipers. To preserve its pristine condition, I refrained from using ink in the pen, ensuring that the next owner would receive an exceptional writing experience. The has never been inked.
This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden lacquered box, outer storage factory box, and Limited Edition/Service Booklet. The wooden lacquered box does display 3 very small areas where the lacquer has chipped away which can be viewed in the last three images.
This Montblanc 888 Year of the Golden Dragon Fountain Pen is a truly spectacular and refined writing tool, skillfully created and designed in Germany. It is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink, and would make a fantastic addition to any writing collection. I would classify this Montblanc Fountain Pen as being in pristine, mint, never inked, and new old stock condition.

These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".
