Here is a very scarce unusual travel booklet promoting the state of Arkansas as a travel destination - Note the unusual ARKANSAWhillbilly mountain folkspelling of Arkansas !!!
Measures about 13-1/2 inches by 10 inches and has 40 numbered pages, looks complete.
Full ofwhole page, half-page, and quarter pageimages and real photos from Arkansas as seen from the railroad traveler in that early day.
The Van Noy Railroad News Co. was an interesting organization that operated news and tobacco stands, concessions and restaurants, and hotels along railroad lines that housed travelers and railroad crews.
One of their most notable employees was the young Walt Disney, who hawked their products on the Pacific RR between Kansas City and Jefferson.
Booklet in very good vintage condition with some overall wear here and there, binding is still strong, no realcondition issues to note except some general age toning to pages, no apparent tears,some stains, a small missing area on the edge from probable rodent chewing but very minimal - please remember this booklet is 116 YEARS OLD so is amazing shape really !!!
