1815 Land Grant Signed by the 4th President and \"Father of the Constitution\" James Madison awarding One hundred acres of land to the heirs of Thomas Ray for being a captain in the \"Virginia Line in the Continental Establishment\" for 3 years. Ray was awarded 100 acres of land northwest of the Ohio River. The document was signed on November 22, a date famous in presidential history for unfortunate reasons.
After some research, it appears Thomas Leander Ray Sr. served in the 4th Virginia Regiment, who saw action in the Battle of Trenton, Battle of Princeton, Battle of Brandywine, Battle of Germantown, Battle of Monmouth and the Siege of Charleston.
Fully Framed to a size of 26\'\' by 29.5\'\' with the document measuring 11.5\'\' by 14\'\'. The display piece also features an engraved biography of James Madison, a medal honoring Madison and a headshot of the 4th President.
