try square w/ 11-3/4" blade & showy handle & brass escutcheons marked Walker:

You are offerding on one try square as pictured.

It is marked "W WALKER" on both sides of the wood handle.

Blade length is about 11-3/4", measured from the far end of the blade to the near side (brass faced side) of the handle.

The unusually shaped escutcheons on each side and the facing on the handle are brass. The 4 rivets inside each escutcheon are steel.

I'm not sure what the wood is, perhaps a lighter rosewood, and the grain lines are quite distinctive.

Condition is fair to good to very good, depending on where you are looking. The handle is very good, and appears to have some sort of a clear coating or wax on it. The brass escutcheons and facing have been polished. The blade has quite a bit of scattered mostly very light pitting on both sides.The blade is reasonably straight, with a few slight wiggles if you sight down the upper edge.

USPS POSTAGE RATE INCREASES: I use the Post Office for everything, and yes, the shipping charges just keep going up and up. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights.I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.

SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including . If I ship to a state where is required to collect sales tax, will charge you the sales tax for your location.There is lots of information available from that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to .
