Good evening all. Another family piece. Here is a legit vintage large Mission/Arts & Crafts style quartersawn dark oak picture frame, with mitered corners. This hung in my mother's house for over 40 years, framing a pencil sketch by my cousin. My mother acquired the frame from an antique dealer for that purpose.
I know it is difficult to tell from the pictures, but this is a high quality piece, with sound joints. The only thing I CALL OUT on the front of the frame is a little roughness at and near one joint, which I would take to be from the original cut of the joint (19th picture). The back has some random holes etc. from hanging hardware that you can see in the pictures, but none of it is material.
The outside of the frame is 25" by 21". The wood is 5" wide. The visible opening of the frame is 15" by 11". There is a rabbet along the outside of the back of the frame that you can see in the last picture. Weighs over 7 and a half pounds.
The rabbets in the back of the frame that hold the picture matting are 3/8" wide, so the rabbeted opening in the back is 15-3/4" by 11-3/4". Message if you want pictures of this. There is glass, which is fine, but it was too difficult to shoot the pictures with the glass in the frame.
I know that this is an expensive item, so message with questions, of for more pictures. I also see that the shipping cost is not insubstantial but I don't know where exactly you are going to find another one.
