Well I am not sure what category this box fits into , I almost would consider it folk art as I believe that this was done by a craftsman or artist for something or someone special ! the carving is wonderful , around the key hole there is some loss (no key) and at one point it looks like someone put filler in the hinge area, you could easily touch that up, this looks good and overall the function is there ! its one of a kind !
