I have this same model in my fireplace and was so impressed with this woodstove that I drove to Indianapolis to purchase one for installation in my Dad's new home But Mom wanted a smaller one. So this one has spent the past 15 years packed away in the garage. Dad just passed away at 90 years old and the farm has been sold. The woodstove is still in excellent condition and ready to be installed into your fireplace. I also have the firebrick liner. Ihad considered building a steel frame to raise the height of the stove to make it easier to cook on. During a winter storm power outage, I cooked on my stove which I had placed a granite top on. I also burn winter trash in my stove and when cleaning out the ash (which you only have to do 2-3 times a season) I discovered a melted beer bottle. My research found that this bottle would melt and loose it's shape at 1450 Degrees F. Folks this is one hell of a woodstove. Don't let it get away. It was produced in the 70's and is the most sought after wood burning stove today because it's made out of cast iron and heavy plate steel, they can last forever with a little care. The bear models were the first that Bob Fisher produced. They required the use of a chimney to safely and effectively produce heat and burn wood. The stoves that were bought and installed in the '70s and early '80s are still in use today due to the well-crafted design and high-quality materials.

Mama Bear– This was the second stove Fisher developed. It is just over 400 pounds and can heat up a home or cabin of around 1,750 square feet. It can handle logs up to 24 inches and also has two air intakes for good flow.

Fisher Fireplace Series

These were made with double doors with an 8-inch flue and are as large as the Baby Bear Fisher wood-stove series. A screen in front of the double doors allows the doors to be open and theflames of the fire to be seen,adding some ambiance to the room.
