This is a card bearing the signature of Akira Matsui.Akira Matsui(1908-1994) was a notable Japanese diplomatwho held many offices in his career, includingserving asAmbassador to Sweden,AmbassadortoFrance, andAmbassador tothe United Nations.This is a signed card, 4\" by 6\", stapled to an 8.5\" by 11\" sheet
of thick paper. There is also a newspaper clipping attached
to the sheet, above the card, as well as a smaller card whichidentifies the autograph.
The newspaper clippingshows Ambassador Matsui andthreeother men at the funeralfor General Douglas MacArthur.Matsui had served as translator at four meetings that wereheld by General MacArthur and Emperor Hirohito at theconclusion of World War II.
