In an era with very restrictive liquor laws in British Columbia, the Pacific Athletic Club was a private men’s club in Vancouver which had more legal freedom. Exercise was optional, drinking was the norm.

The Pacific Athletic Club opened in 1936 and closed in 1958. This menu has no date, but it was long enough ago that some sandwiches were 25¢ and many drinks were 50¢ and up. The cover says “Wine List” perhaps because it sounds classier — there are only three entries under Wine and most of what they offer is cocktails and hard liquor. This is a vintage original item.

SHIPPING IS FREE to a Canadian address only during my annual summer clearout. US shipping is $10, International is $12. The Canadian post office no longer allows an envelope which “contains goods” to be sent to the US or internationally by lettermail, it has to be mailed a more expensive way.
