The back says,”The lagoon at high tide at the mouth of Fishermans River. The old milk condensery was 1000 feet to the left. Sgt T Lafare. Photo LR Peterson, Gibsons.” Fisherman River is in the Cape Scott area on the northwest tip of Vancouver Island.

The back of the photo paper is marked Velox — the website of Paul Messier Photo Conservation says the single word Velox was used from the late 1920s to the late 1940s. Around 1950 or so the wording was changed to “Kodak / Velox / Paper”. The is a small photo about 3” x 2” (actual image not including white border). This is a vintage original photo, not a modern repro.

SHIPPING IS FREE to a Canadian address only during my annual summer clearout. US shipping is $10, International is $12. The Canadian post office no longer allows an envelope which “contains goods” to be sent to the US or internationally by lettermail, it has to be mailed a more expensive way.1
