Hammond No.12 typewriter with Ideal (curved) keyboard. Its serial number, 77,982, dates it to ca.1906.
Cosmetically, the typewriter is very good-to-excellent. Other than needing a basic polish. Minimal nickel loss and equally minimal signs of superficial rust. The most notable flaws are the 1 missing and 3 chipped keytops. Nonetheless, the Hammond already displays beautifully especially because of the Ideal keyboard.
Functionally, the carriage advances and returns nicely. The typewheel reacts as it should each time. The typewriter is perfect for basic demonstration.
An original case is included. Please note the delamination to the bottom inside and outside of the cover.
Again, this is an EXCELLENT example which already displays beautifully.
