I have other photos in Pomona that shows that Golden State cars also say Rock Island on them. But they are being pulled by this Southern Pacific diesel locomotive.
Original real photo snapshot. Good condition. Writing on back with description. The writing may cause the letters to be raised up on the front when viewed in reflection. Most from this collection are stamped E.F. Hunter Jr of Inglewood, CA, a train hobbyist. I found an article by him in a 1952 Railroad Age magazine. View highly detailed scans for details.
