This is an original period Art Deco elephant lamp I believe was made by NuArt c1920 and marked "No. 186". These novelty lamps were made of spelter metal and given a bronze finish. It has an amber color glass shade with the Art Deco style Greek Key design divided by clear raised lines which I believe is original to the lamp. 10" T x 11" x 5 1/4". Base is 9 1/2" x 3 3/4". The shade is 5 1/2" x 5 1/4" dia. has a 3 1/4" fitter with one major chip but it sits down inside so does not show when on lamp. The shade has some small scuffs around the fitter which is also not seen. Overall condition is very good with minor wear from age and use. No cracks or chips in the metal. Original working cloth electrical wiring with plug having a chip on one side. There is no off/on switch. Light socket is clean. NuArt distributed their wares through the Gift House, Inc. in New York City. NuArt pieces are typically marked for maker but only "No. 186" embossed on side of lamp. Weight 4 lbs. 2 oz.
