This lot is a promotional letter written by Richmond P. Hobson, national lecturer for the Anti-Saloon League of America. Richmond Hobson was a rear admiral in the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. For a portion of that war, he was a prisoner of war in Cuba. He would eventually receive the Medal of Honor for his distinctive service. By 1913, Hobson was rallying support for the Prohibition movement and was a traveling lecturer for Anti-Saloon League of America. This undated, single-sheet letter was sent from Hobson to one of the groups hosting him as a speaker. The letter promotes the wonderful benefits of Prohibition.The letter is on standard 8.5\"x11\" paper, and Hobson signed it at the bottom. The signature is guaranteed original and authentic.
