This is a very nice complete red and cream painted tin vase & cover.
Embossed makers name on the base... J.N. TAYLOR PERFUMER LONDON .. if you google these you will see a few.. this shape and another Asian shape too.
A pomander ... pot pouri perfume - scent holder.
This one also has a date on the bottom written in black ink ... July 8 1913.
It is 3 and half inch tall x 2 and half inch bulbous body dia x 1 and half inch mouth dia x 1 and half inch base dia.
A very nice antique item.
Provenance Note....this is 1 of a number of items from an old antique dealers stock which I am selling at the moment..... Many items have old collectors labels on which I have left on as they make the items a little more interesting.... Some have their own dates as well on the pottery, dates include as early as 1907 and 1913 when they have been bought from where ever, private sales or sales over the years..and the person that once owned them has written these dates on the item using pencil or even water colour paint.. I only found out when it washed off....some items have been sold at Sotheby's London and other sale houses too...interesting items.
