This is a c1890s stereoview of Mount Lowe Railway. This one features the Great Incline on top of Echo Mountain. Mount Lowe Railway was running from 1893-1938. It was about a 7 mile long railway in Southern California that had 3 sections(last picture); the mountain(red line), incline(pink line) and alpine(orange line) section. The railway ended at the top of Mount Lowe at Alpine Tavern. There were shops, hotels, a casino, etc which people could visit either on Echo Mountain or Lowe. It finally became defunct because of fire & flood.

This stereoview is made of sturdy cardboard and it is in good condition for being 120+ years old. However there is a liquid stain in the lower left corner and some dirt spots a long the upper edge.
