This is an excellent c1840 American birdseye maple grain painted miniature frame. Reddish toned, subtle birdseye painted spots on an mustard base with early wavy glass, shingle backboard and brass loop hanger. The frame is in excellent condition and measures 7 1/4 x 9 3/4 with a 5 5/8 x 8 1/4 rabbet. Mitered, square nailed corners and painted sides.
