This vintage original window card style WWII poster is one of several created by artist Robert C. Kauffmann for the American Red Cross. For this poster Kauffmann renders an idealized image of four men, each representing a different branch of the service, flanking a women in a Red Cross uniform with all stepping jauntily and smiling broadly. Text across the bottom reads simply JOIN AMERICAN RED CROSS. Kauffmann’s name appears signed in print in the upper lefthand corner of the image area.
This vintage original poster is a window card style printed one side only on lightweight cardboard. This poster shows light handling wear including slight bumping to the upper righthand corner. The poster retains strong colors and looks unused. Overall condition is very good.
