This fantastic, and very professional, portrait was shot by an established studio photographer in Vinnitsa, Ukraine in the late 1800s. It is gorgeously framed in a little pressed-solid-wood frame that dates to about 1960s-\'70s. The Cyrillic writing on the front translates to \"Y. Kuperman - Vinnitsa.\" I can also send you the full translation for the back if you wish. It\'s just the usual studio advertising.
On the back of the photograph is handwritten: \"Ellen\'s [illegible] - Ethel Wilner\'s Father.\" My research suggests that Ethel Wilner was most likely Ethel Passer Wilner, who was born in Vinnitsa, Ukraine c.1868, married Boris Wilner, immigrated to Philadelphia in 1910, was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1940, and passed away in 1943. (This CDV was purchased at sale in Pennsylvania.)
CONDITION: The photo is in stunningly beautiful condition, as is the frame.
