The Burmese Pagoda, Eden Garden in Calcutta, India were laid out in 1834 and named after Emily and Fanny Eden, the sisters of Governor-General George Eden, 1st Earl of Auckland. The pagoda at Eden Garden was brought to Calcutta from Prome, Burma by Viceroy James Andrew Broun-Ramsay, Marquess of Dalhousie, and erected in the gardens in 1854.Pictures sell!
