Yo-Semi-Te Brand. This uncommon vintage circa 1940 orange crate label depicts a late afternoon view down a redwood tree-lined smooth dirt road in Yosemite Valley, rendered with stunning, artistic color variation. In the distance, we glimpse purple mountains under a golden sky. This beautiful label could have served just as well to lure visitors to Yosemite National Park as it did to sell delicious oranges!Rahn & Stecher departed [Mensing, Rahn & Stecher] in 1877 to start Mensing & Stecher. In 1887 Stecher assumed control, changed the name to Stecher Lithographic Company, and turned it into a major label and poster producer. The company was acquired in 1936 by the Traung Lithographic Company of San Francisco to form Stecher-Traung.This label is vintage (intended to be pasted on a wooden crate, but never used) - not a copy, not computer-printed, and is in mint / pristine condition - remarkable for an 84-year-old label!
