1977 America’s Cup Race Invitation with Letter from Office of Gerry E. Studds House of Representatives Interesting typed letter on the stationary of the Office of CongressmanGerry E. Studds, House of Representatives. The letter addresses a Mr. DonaldConsoletti of Onset, Massachusetts that 2 ticket are enclosed for the “FifthRace of the America’s Cup series” and hopes that he will enjoy them. There is one invitation enclosed with this letter to viewthe Fifth Race aboard the USCGC Dallas (WHEC-716), embarking fromDestroyer Piers, Naval Base, Newport. The typed letter measures 8 x 9 ½ inches, dated September,9, 1977, ink signature of Samuel G. Allis, Administrative Assistant. The letterhas significant age tanning from improperly framing technique and 2 smallpieces of tape residue on verso otherwise in good condition.
