Here comes the Sun! 🌞Rare GAINEY Ceramics 'original' Mid Century Modern Planter Pot 1969/70 in a unusually beautiful summery sun-like yellow color made by Gainey Ceramics in California.This is an unusually large Gainey Planter measuring 19.5" in diameter and 15" tall.Not a new reproduction; this is an original mid century modern design.Very hard to find 'golden yellow' or 'ochre glaze' color.Estimated weight is 44 lbs. First Time on in many years! Up for sale is this large Gainey Ceramics flower pot. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This pot has a golden yellow or ochre glaze. It is approximately 19 1/2 inches in diameter and 15 inches tall. The estimated weight is about 44 pounds. This California pottery planter would look cool in a mid-century modern decor.
Condition:
The pot looks good overall, but it is not in perfect condition. It has no cracks. It has wear from use such as scratches, scuffs, and numerous tiny glaze flakes/fleabites/pits. The interior has dullness and minor residue. There are some scattered chips to some of the edges. To the rim, there is a 3/16 inch by 1/8 inch chip and a 1/4 inch by 3/16 inch chip (please see Photos 6 and 7). There are nicks and chips to the lower, sharp edge near the bottom (examples shown in Photo 8 and 9); the largest of these have maximum dimensions of 15/16 inch by 5/16 inch and 3/8 inch by 1/8 inch, respectively. The bottom of the pot has holes drilled in it for drainage. As made, there are some glazed-over creases and indents. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to offerding or buying.Sold in 'as-is' condition, let me know if you need more pictures.Absolutely no returns.
